More often, however, soft friendly people have anxious, nervous, worried dogs. These dogs feel like some rivals will probably come in and kill their whole family with ease at any moment. Their anxiety often even leads to health problems like skin conditions, etc. If you pay attention you’ll notice the sweet old ladies who are nicest to their dogs also have the most sickly dogs with the worst behavioral issues. It’s no coincidence. Rough mean assholes always have perfect content dogs. Again, within reason. We’re not talking about sick sadists or anything here.

I had an older cat that was alone for years, until I fell in love with a cat at the pet store. We did a slow introduction (per Jackson Galaxy routine) and eventually they were grooming each other, playing and sleeping on the same bed. BUT I do not think it would have happened, unless the new cat was eager and willing to make friends. He was a pushy little sh*t…LOL. My point is that BOTH cats need to be considered , with regards to personality. You must resist the temptation to pick a new cat based on color, age, size, or breed. if you want your current cat to make friends. And give it plenty of time. Took my boys about 3 months. There was hissing and a few squats but few fights. (I put a stop to that ASAP). And never leave them alone in the same place until any danger of fighting is past. Be prepared (mentally) to rehome the new cat, if the older cat becomes too stressed, ill or very aggressive. It isn’t fair to either of them to be made to suffer. Good luck. It’s never really explained in so many words, but there is still an oblique explanation. Her song, ‘Grizabella: The Glamour Cat’, is quite dense in its language - and was removed from the original collection of poems the show is based on since TS Elliot thought it was too depressing - but the basics of it is that she was once the talk of the town (so essentially the female equivalent of Bustopher Jones) but then essentially did the feline equivalent of blowing all her money on booze and drugs and winding up as a prostitute (yes really); so…I guess overdosing on catnip and snuggling up to different families/tomcats for affection, potentially including Macavity (which is the explanation the movie chooses to go with). But in the end, the “why” really doesn’t matter very much. All that’s important is that she’s not welcome until the very end.

Alaska used to groom my cats all the time

Alaska used to groom my cats all the time. And they used to groom her muzzle and forehead (the only parts of her body with short enough fur for them to manage). She was very close with all 3 of our cats at the time. She would check on each cat first thing in the morning, and before bed. If she couldn’t find a cat, she would make us find the cat for her and would not rest until she had inspected the cat. It was so sweet. The cats adored her, but Kagetora was absolutely in love with her. He was a stray, and he started hanging out with her when she’d go outside with my daughter. That’s how we met him. He just wanted to be with her all the time. She was a great friend for all of us.

Even a baby can understand “no” over time, but it’s easier to keep the cat away from the baby! The cat probably understands the baby better than the baby does the cat, so protect them both! Babies learn in the womb to clutch their hand, it’s natural, so they will reach out and grab your finger and hold on tight, but they will also grab a cat’s fur and hold on tight, so babies and children up to about the age of 5 or 6, still need supervision with pets and teaching about how to act when with pets!

So I have two cats who are Siblings

So I have two cats who are Siblings. One is black her name is Lucifer Luci for short the other is gray and named Mrs. Leo we originally thought she was male. So, We recently got two male kittens and a couple months before we got two female cats. But before that I took Lucifer to my Grandmothers house for when I’m there and because her sister was starving her. So, My Mother said she had enough money to spay the female cats but not get the males Neutered. Because we thought one was female but he is a he. I refused to get Mrs. Leo and Luci fixed because Mrs. Leo is unpredictable, So my worry is she’ll become more aggressive and I’ll be forced to get rid of her. The reason for Lucifer is because she’s also a bit unpredictable, she is nice and sweet but she also will claw you and bat at you if I try to move anything in her “Area” or basically anything in my room. Now, you may be wondering “If she lives at your grandmother's house why does she need to be spayed?”. Her and my grandmother are switching homes soon. So, am I irresponsible?

It’s not bad to cuddle, pet, or snuggle your cat

It’s not bad to cuddle, pet, or snuggle your cat. They like affection. Some cats like to be picked up, others do not. If your cat likes to be picked up, do so as much as he or she wants. If not, then show affection in other ways. My cat tolerates being picked up and will snuggle on my shoulder sometimes. She won’t allow anyone else to pick her up though. I did insist on her allowing me to pick her up shortly after I adopted her because there are times ( such as getting a cat to the vet) that you may need to pick your cat up whether they like it or not.

Having a pet is wonderful.

Having a pet is wonderful. I know that my life would be miserable without one in my life. And, I love having multiple pets. But, having multiple pets means more work because that means taking care of *all* of their needs which is more than just providing food and water. You need to take care of all their emotional needs as well. Your kitten is still very young and hasn’t been around all that long, but if you don’t get this situation taken care of now, you will have issues all of their lives. So, help your kitten feel safe and, hopefully, she’ll start using the litter box properly. Good luck!

Abandonment will cause a domestic cat to become feral. They are natural-born killers and would more than likely thrive left to their own devices. A feral cat can become domesticated too conversely. An adult would need to be ‘broken’ like say a wild horse, but besides our two domestic Burmese we inherited a stray Tabby kitten boy which we estimate was about 4 weeks old. We live on 50 acres rurally and there were no neighborhood kittens. Feral though being a kitten is much easier to train. Now a solid two years old and thriving.

One factor would be where the breed originated, which relates to their coat. We have an Old Time Scotch Collie, the breed that AKC collies came from. He has a very heavy coat of fur and suffers terribly in the summer here in Indiana. He is also a sensitive and gentle dog, bred to be a family pet and watchdog. He spends a lot of his summer indoors, laying on an air conditioning vent in the family room. It would be cruel to make him an outside pet in a hot, humid climate. On the other hand, he loves being outdoors in fall, winter, and spring when the temperatures are moderate. Because his coat is so heavy, he dislikes water and rain makes him miserable. He’d be a mess out in the rain and mud since his coat doesn’t shed dirt like a short-haired dog. An Alaskan Malamute is another breed for cold weather and it would be awful to make him live in the tropics.
