 I happened to work at a very good, private nursing home. I had heard rumors about neglect from other employees there, but I had never known of any of these. However, I had especially become very close friends with a 98-year old patient there who happened to be blind and wore a colostomy bag. One day when I visited him he told me that the nurse on that floor was not handing him any food whatsoever, because he had soiled himself. At this point, I made the decision to call this his family and report the abuse. His family showed up and asked the home’s administration because I reported the abuse to them. A few days after that, I was fired. And I never found out as to what had happened to the poor man, I hoped however that the family had gone ahead and reported the abuse and that nursing home to the right authorities. And that’s the most disgusting example and abuse I have ever witnessed.

 Every day since I got her. I woke up just enough to see her charge across the room and I heard a crash from the dining room. She had come out of one of those half asleep naps you see your dog take. She jumped from laying flat on the floor to a dead out charge across the room. So I went out to see where she had gone. I looked in all the rooms of the house because I just couldn’t find her. Finally, I noticed some movement under the table and pulled a chair out so she could escape from the jail she had run into. She never caught that mouse. She does keep the backyard free of vermin, though.

Do you have wild animals such as mountain lions, or coyotes? Fox sometimes will go after cats as well. Someone could have run over your cat as well, and they don’t want to tell you. Cats can also be carried away in vehicles, either on an axle, in a motor, on top, or in a truck bed. Think about your cat’s personality as it can sometimes give you clues. How close to home does she stay? Where does she go?

The FBI had infiltrated Russian computers and were able to nail down those individuals who were responsible for infiltrating Democratic National Committee computers. During the 2020 election, those in charge of election security were more vigilant. But, no matter how you spin it, there are still people who are going to believe that the 2020 election was stolen. There is no way, with the margin of victory that Biden won by, that many votes could have been fraudulently cast. It is incumbent that officials, when they have been defeated, and have exhausted all avenues of redress, bow out gracefully. Hillery Clinton, Albert Gore, George Herbert Walker Bush, and countless others have done so after defeat. Our 45th president needs to understand that he is an adult, and needs to do the mature thing. It does him no good to continue to whine, and cry “pity me.” Instead of thinking of his own self-interest, he should be thinking about what is best for our nation and stop trying to subvert our democracy.

 Like any dog, Dirk lives car rides. Especially when I have the top down and doors off of my Jeep. I park it in the garage if it rains so I don't have to put everything back together and when we took my wife's car one rainy day we came back to a surprise. We pulled into the driveway and as the garage door went up, Dirk picked his head up from the back seat of my Jeep! The garage is attached to the house and the man door was open. But how? We thought we just didn't close it well and Dirk went out to be in one of his favorite places. But then we noticed scratches on the door trim by the handle. Dirk got up on his hind legs and kept hitting the door handle like he'd seen us do so many times before. He knew that was the door we went out of so he went looking for us. We weren't there, and he loves his car rides, so he hopped up in my Jeep.

Super energetic (if you can’t give them daily exercise outings, not for you), super smart (if you can’t give them mental stimulation whether that be constant learning, cognitively challenging toys, working tasks, etc not for you), super attractive with silky soft “non-shedding” hair (if you can’t give them regular grooming, not for you), super goofy (if you don’t like to laugh, not for you), super expressive honey brown eyes (if you can’t sink into the most expressive facial expressions, not for you), relatively uncommon mid to large size monotone (rich dark chocolate) dogs. I believe IWS are AKC’s only spaniel classified as a sporting dog. AKA (affectionately and an homage to their goofy personalities) “whip tails” “rat tails” for their long very short haired tails (which strikingly contrast to long curly body hair). Mine have gotten mis-ID’d as Standard Poodles (70% of time), Labradoodles (15%), Portuguese Water Dogs (10%), Others (4% like the fictitious Curly Haired Afghan).

And because of you, the dogs unwanted behavior, and not knowing what options you had to correct the situation/problem? You did less together. You didn’t want him to attack so you built a wall between you(unknowingly). He’s manic because you don’t get him, his excitement now is the reason you don’t take him out? Well isn’t it? I'm assuming this situation of course. If it is true ? Any of it? You NEED to remember YOU ARE THE LEADER. If he is manic(as you state) so what? You don’t walk away and leave him. You stand your ground calm and firm. When he calms down by sitting on his own. That is what you want him to know. If you want him to be calm on a walk? Then NEVER put a leash on him when he is excited. Stand there, no talking, no eye contact, look straight ahead, do not touch him. And again YOU are the Leader you set the pace, make the rules. If you know he goes after dogs. Then as his owner, leader you must REACT before he does! That is a Correction. He does not know how to act because you never should treat him the correct way you expect him to act. ok

 Dogs don’t understand the concept of breaking up the pack. They are loyal to the end. If you have doubts about this, go look up a few dog to dog reunions on youtube. And they WILL grieve once they realize the separation is not going to end. If they are elderly, it will age them faster & shorten their life; I had this happen to our lovely timid Corgi/Collie girl with my ex & myself & the rest of her tiny Chi pack members. For this reason, I would make every effort to handle the separation as much as possible like shared custody of minor children. I think everybody would be far happier. if you live in the same city, & it has a doggie daycare, you might enroll them both there, let the staff know the reason & ask them to accommodate together time, especially if your breakup was not cordial.

If there was an issue they’d either wait for you to come out or in exigent circumstances break a window if there’s reason to believe the dog's lives are at risk due to overheating. This isn’t something that you would receive a summons for weeks later after the fact. Further, the criminal statute for this specific incident would fall under 597(F)PC- Every owner of any animal, who permits the animal to be without proper care and attention, shall, on conviction, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. It shall be the duty of any peace officer, an officer of the humane society, or officer of a pound or animal regulation department of a public agency, to take possession of the animal so abandoned or neglected and care for the animal until it is redeemed by the owner. This is why you wouldn’t be subject to a criminal summons after the fact because it’s the duty of those responding to take custody of your dogs in the event they found the dogs weren’t receiving adequate care and attention

Add to that risk the fact that even benign splenic masses can rupture resulting in fatal intra-abdominal hemorrhage and your odds probably drop to less than 1 in 4. The only reasons a dog is “too old for surgery” are medical—(the dog has another condition that will result in death within a very short period of time or serious organ failure that makes anesthesia tremendously risky), and economic—(you personally can’t justify the expense because you ascribe a monetary value to the dog based on how much more time you have). Splenectomy is 100% curative in the case of benign masses and stands a chance of being curative if it’s a solitary malignant mass that has not spread.
