Anyways, that's the first vivid memory of me praying to God. I prayed that she wouldn't whip me when she got home. He answered because when she got home I didn't get whipped. I have never believed in coincidence but that day my faith in God was set in motion. Many times in my life as a small child and a teenager I can attribute God to sparing my life. There was the time at age 8 that I mixed poisons from our medicine cabinet together and drank it out of a hollow Jesus statue, nothing happened. And the many times as a youngster, preteen, I would steal pills from my grandmother's kitchen cabinet and down them a few at a time and by His grace nothing happened. At thirteen one of the times I ran away I spent the night in a dog shed with my runaway girlfriend. I had nothing but a thin blazer to keep me warm, it was two days before halloween and it was bitter cold.

As a matter of fact I come from an extremely abusive background and because of that I became a chronic runaway starting at age nine. When I was maybe seven or eight my mom, adopted mom, was getting ready to go and visit some lady with my grandmother. To this day I don't know if she was a Prophet or a clairvoyant. All I know is that they used to pay her money, I gatherd that from my mom and grandmother's whispers. Knowing what I know now about God, if she was was a supposed Prophet, God was not pleased with her accepting money for prophecy. But putting that aside, the night mom and grandmother were going to see her, my mother couldn't find her pantyhose. Remember, I was seven or eight, but guess who got blamed for taking them. Couldn't be that she misplaced them. I would never have been able to fit them but she always called me obese, even when I was but a toothpick.

Just because you know how to pronounce ‘Blodeuwedd’, doesn’t mean her kindergarten teacher will. Think about what’s associated with the name. Naming your girl-child Medusa - or your boy-child Voldemort - is probably not a great idea. If you really like the name, but it’s unusual enough to cause problems with either pronunciation or recognition (“seriously, they named you after the cat in that stupid Halloween movie??”), use it as their middle name.

Many countries do place some restrictions on names. Some are more restrictive than others. In Germany, for instance, parents have to submit the name, and one of the rules is that the name cannot “negatively effect the child”. They would probably disapprove of “Shrek”. Now - that’s the legal side. But is it a good idea to name your children after fictional characters? Especially unique ones that are immediately recognizable? Certainly plenty of people have. Hermione - which is a real historical name, btw, and not technically “unique” the way “Shrek” is unique - was dropping tremendously in usage… Until Harry Potter came out, when you see the name make a huge jump back up again in popularity. That being said, this is relative - Hermione was never a really popular name, and it still isn’t. But it’s back up to close to its turn-of-the-1900s levels.

Yes, I am serious, I stole a LOT of inspiration from the Playboy bunny waitress costumes for this. That is a fully boned bodysuit in 1994. Made to Playboy measurements, and I was the bell of the ball, despite my BF at the time throwing a hissy fit. His best friend since Kindergarten carried me to the car so I wouldn’t have to walk in the 1 foot of snow and my BF was being such a douche. This, because it was an evolution Same pants, same shoes, but OMG was it comfy. Yes, those are rainbows shooting out of my dark Naughticorn ass, Deal. Pockets and sneakers for parties and raving? Hells yeah. Unlike most others half my age at the party, I could walk like a human after 6+ hours of dancing. And this Rock-n-roll Poison Ivy, I can deal with crowded bars, horny men, cops, and crowds in this. Steel toed ass kicking bad guy.

But it’ll all work out in the end, that’s for sure. And we’re gonna party harder than ever before, next Halloween. Ahh Halloween! I love this holiday, we could have 3 months of Halloween, no X-mas and I would be a clam in sand. I have so many I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE !!!! This, at 4 yrs old That’s right, Under-roos and home-made tiara boots, lasso, and bracelets. What isn’t in the picture is my cape that my mother also made me (think the TV series cape). Do you know how awesome running around in your undies in Florida was for Halloween? In a full costume where 90% of what you might have had to fuss with was undies?

Another fun incident: the owner of a store that was open to trick-or-treating approached me when I passed by. He asked to shake my hand — “I’m helping our government regain some diplomatic ties,” he said as we posed for the cameras and signed some sort of deal. Priority import of sweets from Taiwan to the United States of America, or something equally important. To top it all off, there was an event at my local Chili’s that granted anyone who went in with either a green, red, or white costume a free ice cream on chocolate cake. What’s not to love about that?

I spent what would equate to 25 bucks on my outfit just for this occasion! Guess which one’s me? Hint: I’m two monsters in one, and Godzilla isn’t one of them. I’ll build a wall around the raptors…I’mma make Jurassic Park great again! Okay fine, the mask was a bit on the cheap side and my head was somewhat smaller than whatever size it was designed for, but it fit well enough for passerby to recognize me as POTUS 45th. The extra thought I put in this outfit paid off too: little kids loved the T-Rex I was riding, teens enjoyed both the rex and Sir Covfefe, and adults appreciated the political humor (perk of being in Taiwan: nobody gets butthurt over a US President’s mask). I was routinely stopped and asked for pictures by both children, their parents, and adults walking around. It was hands down the best night I’ve had in a long time. One highlight was when I walked into a McDonald’s for a quick bite with my friend (read: security detail).
