Space is a friendship/adventure/mystery series with just one season and an a premise that while a little wacky is something that could be set anywhere and so doesn’t really require any knowledge of Japan to understand anything in it any further (and it’s basically like the anime for “Among Us”) and Haikyuu is essentially like a sports movie but as a series, with 10% more bromance (well, friend mance, and little to no actual romance, but people ship the guys together… like they do with Marvel, Sherlock and Supernatural), animated and about volleyball rather than baseball or football. If you want to jump right into the deeper end, there’s nothing stopping you from trying out “Spirited Away”, “Hunter x Hunter”, “Code Geass”, “Fairy Tail” (I’m not saying it’s deep in a psychological way, or anything like that, but it captures the weird side of anime well), the first season of “The Promised Neverland” and the countless harem anime that help solidify anime as “that weird thing weird people watch”.
