I would say the only reason you shouldn’t spay your cat is if you are a professional breeder or have other purebred reasons for not sterilizing your pet.

Other than that (and I’m not a huge fan of breeding cats in the first place) I am a huge supporter of spaying/neutering all cats. To start, it is a good way to prevent your pets from having a wandering tendency and from becoming pregnant and contributing to the incredibly high number of stray and shelter cats. Most female cats will have a stronger urge to go outside and mate if they aren’t fixed which can cause the pet to get viruses and parasites or even the pet getting lost. Unplanned cat pregnancies happen way too often. I volunteer at a shelter and we always have too many kittens because not enough people do this.
