God will do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ever expect. The God who promises eternal life has to sustain us in this life and He promised to do so in the Sermon on the Mount. That's what Jesus really preached. The full version of that sermon is found in the gospel of Matthew chapter 5,6 and 7. Jesus spend almost 4 years teaching and made three major teaching cycles during the time. It appears that repeated versions of the sermon on several occasions. In Luke 6 there is a record of him teaching a shorted version of the same sermon to a crowd on a plain. It is interesting to compare the two different version of the sermon that he gave. (Kind of like Dr King had preached his “I Have a Dream” message before the rally in Washington. But the Washington version is the one everyone knows. The Matthew version is the one that everyone knows.)
