Jesus is closer to the immediate emotional empathy between two individuals. As far as emotions and reason converge in their respective goals, both ethical formulas come to the same practical conclusions without conflict. This was spoken to the twelve apostles who are the foundation ministry for all time. Jesus reminded them that they had received the gospel without charge so they were to give it to others in the same manner. This verse gets taken out of context by the false preachers of modern religion. They like to use it to remind the congregation to give freely (liberally) but that’s not who that verse was spoken to or what it means. “Freely” in this verse means without salary. It was spoken by Jesus to the ministry.
