I know that it always bothered me when I was paid to do a job I was experienced in, for less than someone who held an academic degree with out any relevant experience. They quit before I did because they could only hide how shit at the job they were, for so long.
That was part of my incentive for returning to the classroom and also because I had worked in an industry that exploits workers and I would rather be on the other side of the table and represent the worker. So I wanted to change career, I had worked my way up about as far as I could go in recruitment as a branch manager from door knocking and selling windows, soffits and fascias (my first job) with only a basic education, I have eleven GCSEs C and above, but that's considered basic.
So yeah, I started university with the aspiration of becoming a barrister specialising in employment law and by the end of the third year, when I should have been studying, I learnt a skill and became a wood carver, sculptor, crafts person instead.
