Podxmas-I’m somewhere between Good and glitter shirt

I just might cut and run north. The Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, is upset that Dr. Fauci suggests we may need further mask mandates and other measures to curtail the spread of Covid-19. He’s irked because he believe such mandates, social distancing, et al are bad for business, and especially in a state like Florida where tourism is one of the main businesses. In the measures to protect citizens from Covid-19, unfortunately, a lot of issues important to Republicans come together: personal freedom, freedom for states to make their own rules instead of listening to the Federal government, and promotion of the economy and business. Florida Man definitely exists. The reason he’s famous, though, is because of Florida’s unique public records transparency rules, collectively known as the Sunshine Law. With very few exceptions, mostly to do with medicine and cases involving minors, the records of practically any Florida government agency are open to the public. So whenever Florida Man has a run-in with a state, county, or local agency (as he is wont to do), it’s public record.
