Put your cat carrier in the main room. Open it up and just let the cat sniff it and check it out for about 10 days. Then give your cat a treat just outside the carrier. Do this for several days. Do it a couple times a day. Once the cat is going right to the carrier to get treats, move the treat just inside the door of the carrier. Cats should be able to reach it without going in a carrier. Do this for 3 or 4 days. Next, move the treat about halfway in. The cat needs to step partway in to get it. Continue to do this a couple times a day. Once your cat easily steps in and gets treated, move the treat to the back of the carrier. The cat should go into the carrier completely. Do not close the door. Do this until the cat is comfortable eating treats in the carrier.
