Your dog is a member of your family. Would you wish your grandmother to die so you could have/adopt a child? It’s not a perfect analogy, but your dog should be someone you love and you should want to hold onto her/him as long as you can (as long as they don’t have a terminal disease and aren’t in extreme pain). Otherwise, you’re just a selfish person who wants a “new toy” and make no mistake, a pet is not “a toy!” You don’t deserve a new puppy. You sound like a heartless person!
