I have had cats who developed gastritis and other gastrointestinal problems whose vet finally told me to stop giving them commercial foods and just feed them cooked chicken (not the bones, just the meat). We had tried numerous foods and medications to no avail. Once we switched to something resembling the natural diet of felines, the gastrointestinal problems disappeared. Do not be fooled by advertising. Your cat needs meat, organs, and bones. You can obtain good quality foods for your cat even if you do not buy a widely known brand, and sometimes even if you do.
