For the same reason I don't know how Trump got any votes when most people I knew hated Trump. I only knew 2 relatives who voted for Trump. One in Pennsylvania and one in North Carolina.
It is a false reality of facts because your immediate circle are people exactly like you.
Same with Evangelical Christians versus Atheists. Same with Republicans versus Demoocrats. Liberals versus Conservatives. Same with kinky people versus straight vanilla people. Same with vegans versus omnivores. Same with cat-people versus dog-people. When we are only around people exactly like ourselves it creates a false view of the world. The only way to escape that false view is to meet people different than ourselves. Talk and listen to the viewpoints of others without debate.
