Okay, back to oil removal. You could use a bathtub or bucket to put the cat in and hold it firmly, but your kitchen sink is likely a more convenient place to use, and you can stand and maneuver about, so go to your sink and put your essentials there: dish soap, towel (not a towel you really value since it is about to become a mess!) and some cat treat (for during the cleaning and as a reward afterward). I suggest you wear thick (preferably waterproof) gloves that cover not only your hands but also your wrists. Pick up your cat and place it in the sink (the dry sink before you add water). Your cat will likely be unhappy. It will shortly become even more unhappy, which is why you need those thick gloves. To help calm your cat you should speak to it in a soft, calm, and loving voice. You may want to have a helper with you to hold the cat with you as well as to speak gently. This is a good time to give your cat a treat or two as the soft, gentle talking and treat will hopefully help to reassure your cat.
