Not at all. China has way more chances to fail than succeed. When China started to liberalize it’s market and society, with an authoritarian Communist regime, it was expected that the regime will either collapse, or the regime will start to devour the market and new found freedoms once the once it will start to see it’s power and influence at risk. It was the second that happened. Once Xi Jing Ping took power, the regime become more repressive, he become president for life, and the ‘’peaceful coexistence’’ model also ended to make place for a militarized China.

Why did that happen thou? Is because the Chinese growth model is not feasible. China basically combined Communist strategy and dogma with Capitalism. What resulted is an odd chimera. Development and growth is achieved trough 5 years plans, and state controlled banks system that is more akin to loan sharking… there is a major lack of reforms that would help the market grow organically and fully develop, because the regime is scared to lose power. Moreover, China is focused on quantity and numbers - ‘’grow grow grow’’, this resulted in a lack of quality. China built entire cities in the past decade, that now are simply falling apart, because they were not build to last, they were build to pump numbers and quotas. This also created a bubble on the hosing market… The Chinese don’t trust the banks and have little opportunities for investments, so those who have money invested it in housing.
