Wood Stock 1969 3 Day music festival with many of the top bands of the time headlined by Jimmy Hendrix Experience with over a half million people in attendance. 1970, The Beatles breakup, the deaths of 3 prominent music artist, all 27 years old. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. 1971 Led Zeppelin releases their 4th album, untitled, and no band name on the label to prove to their critics, that the music was the most important thing and that they didn’t need to rely on clever marketing or a fancy cover, going to sell millions, without any singles being released. They would go on to reign as the most popular band of the decade.
